Everytown for Gun Safety

March for Our Lives

Springfield March For Our Lives

Court Square
Court St,
Springfield, MA 01103
When: Saturday, March 24, 12:00 PM

Change starts now, with us. To empower students to fight for safer schools. To do more than give our “thoughts and prayers”. To prevent innocent lives being lost because of assault rifles. To take action for all those who were deprived of their lives in tragedies that can be prevented. To stand up and make a change. This is not a partisan issue. The deaths of students whose lives were cut short from an bullet will not be swept under the rug due to politics. The lives of students in America should not be threatened because of political parties. There is nothing more crucial than making sure that there is a passage of legislation to effectively address the gun violence issues that are plaguing the schools of America. On March 24th, we will fill the streets of Springfield in conjunction with the national March For Our Lives to protect the lives of innocent people. We will address that it is not okay for Smith and Wesson, who have their corporate headquarters in Springfield, to be selling firearms, such as the AR-15 that was used in the Stoneham Douglass shooting, to the public. Through this march we will demand that comprehensive and effective legislation be immediately brought before Congress to address gun violence. We will demand that our voices be heard and that our safety and lives become a priority. As students we should not be worrying about what we would have to do during a active school shooting, we should be learning, playing, and growing. We cannot live in fear any longer. Change needs to happen, and it starts now. Our voices, our roar, our message will be heard. Stand with us on March 24th and demand that the death stops now. Because the future is now, and the future is us. - This event is sponsored by: March for Our Lives Everytown for Gun Safety Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America Rise Up Western Mass League of Women Voters Springfield Climate Action Now Springfield Climate Justice Coalition Massachusetts Parents United Pioneer Valley Women's March Springfield Area Interfaith Climate Action Network Jewish Alliance for Law and Action Young Democrats of Massachusetts Massachusetts High School Democrats Youth Action March
